Ederson has reportedly verbally agreed to a five-year deal with Manchester United.

That’s according to Ben Jacobs, who adds that club-to-club talks with Atalanta are ‘advancing’.

United Edge Closer to Complete Ederson Agreement

The prospective deal has been developing rapidly in recent days, with United seemingly looking to ramp up their pursuit following the conclusion of the season.

Ederson, 26, had agreed on personal terms with Atletico Madrid back in January, but the Spaniards were unwilling to meet his £39 million asking price.

This opened the door for the Red Devils to enter negotiations, while Atleti shifted their focus to Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Joao Gomes instead.

Who Else Are United Interested in Along with Ederson?

Jacobs also mentions that United are very much in the running for Mateus Fernandes.

A deal for the 21-year-old has become considerably more attainable this afternoon due to West Ham’s relegation on the final day, which means his time with the Irons is likely to be cut short after less than a year.

Aurelien Tchouameni is also ‘high’ on INEOS’ radar, along with Elliot Anderson, who has been considered the ‘dream’ and ‘top’ target.

Manchester City are confident they will emerge victorious in their pursuit of the Nottingham Forest star, though it remains to be seen if Anderson might be tempted by the transition period that the Blues will face with Pep Guardiola’s departure.

Regarding the heavily linked Sandro Tonali, it is reported that his price tag would need to decrease for United to consider a transfer feasible.
