Alexandre Santos, the coach of ASFAR, expressed respect for their opponents, Mamelodi Sundowns, while also exuding confidence ahead of the Caf Champions League final. Tomorrow, ASFAR will face Sundowns in the first leg at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in South Africa.
Santos acknowledged Sundowns’ reputation in continental football but emphasized that his team is prepared to challenge them. “They control opponents; it’s clear they are one of the best teams in Africa. We need to be perfect and strong collectively. But we’re confident,” he stated.
Looking ahead to the second leg in Rabat, Morocco, Santos envisions his team lifting the trophy in front of their home supporters. “We will go to the pitch to show how good we are. We will fight and do our best. We need to counter the strengths of Sundowns, and when they arrive in Rabat, we want to pick up the cup and celebrate with our supporters,” he added.
The highly anticipated match is set to kick off at 4 PM.
