The Malian Football Federation is in search of a new coach following the departure of Tom Saintfiet. A call for applications was issued immediately after his exit, leading to the submission of 28 applications that have since been reviewed.

Following the review process, five candidates have made the shortlist. These include Florent Ibenge from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Mohamed Magassouba from Mali, Badou Zaki from Morocco, as well as António Conceição and Anthony Da Silva from Portugal. The Federation has indicated that these individuals best align with the selection criteria.

The shortlisted candidates are set to undergo interviews with the Commission of the Malian Football Federation. After these interviews, the top candidate will be recommended to the Federation’s Executive Committee for final approval.
