Two London clubs, Arsenal and Chelsea, are predicted to target new strikers in the 2024 summer transfer market. Chelsea are aiming for a striker to add depth to their front line, while Arsenal are looking for a reliable goal scorer.

While the Gunners, although their performance is fine without a striker, still need a target man who can score goals because Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel Jesus are different types of attackers: many move to open up space, not opportunistic strikers who score goals.
Among the many strikers that can be targeted in Europe, one of them is quite interesting, because he is not ‘caught’ on the radar, aka not much highlighted. He is Sporting Lisbon’s Swedish striker Viktor Gyokeres.
The 25-year-old striker has scored 37 goals and provided 14 assists in 50 games for club and country this season, including 22 goals in 24 Portuguese league games with Sporting.
Playing in the Premier League would tempt him as he has ‘unfinished business’ there. Gyokeres has played in England with Brighton & Hove Albion, Swansea City and Coventry City.
Gyokeres spoke about the interest of big European clubs and he doesn’t want to think about leaving at the moment. For him, the rumours mean he is in good form.
“It’s a sign that I’ve done well. But it’s not something I take too seriously, because it’s just speculation. But of course, this is fun. We’ll see this summer,” said Gyokeres.
“It’s not something I know about myself, what’s going to happen. I’m really enjoying Sporting and not stressed about the summer coming up.”
“Obviously what I do attracts attention, but it’s not really my focus in everyday life. But of course it’s nice that I have fans who appreciate what I’ve done,” he explains.
So how much is the price tag for Gyokeres? As reported by the Mirror, Gyokeres was sold by Sporting at 68.5 million pounds. A relatively normal price considering strikers like Victor Osimhen have a tag of 75 million pounds more.
