Liverpool 3-4 Bayern Munich: Seven-Goal Drama at Singapore National Stadium

Liverpool’s pre-season tour in Asia or more precisely in Singapore ended in defeat. The Reds lost 3-4 against Bayern Munich at the Singapore National Stadium, Tuesday (02/08) evening IST.

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool came down with 4-3-3 tactics and Thomas Tuchel’s Bayern with 4-2-3-1. Bayern have possession of the ball and Liverpool, typical of Klopp’s team, try to press to win the ball and launch a counterattack.

Bayern controlled possession but in fact Liverpool were able to steal the lead, even scoring two goals within 30 minutes. The first goal came from Cody Gakpo (2′) when he received an assist from Diogo Jota.

Ahead of the game when the match seemed to be ending in a 3-3 draw, Bayern’s young player Frans Kratzig scored a beautiful goal in the 90+1′ minute. Welcoming Matthijs de Light’s gastric ball pass, Kratzig fired a first-time shot with his left foot and the ball could not be pushed away by Alisson.

The match ended 4-3 in favor of Bayern at the Singapore National Stadium. After this match, Liverpool will play a final trial match against Darmstadt (08/08) before playing week one of the Premier League against Chelsea (13/08).
