Man City’s 115th FFP Violation Hearing to be Held Next Month, Here’s Guardiola’s Comment
Pep Guardiola admitted that he was pleased that Manchester City’s hearing regarding their 115 financial fair play (FFP) demands would begin next month.
The Man City coach also expressed his desire to complete this process not only for his club, but also for the clarity of other Premier League clubs, including Liverpool.
Last February 115 allegations were made against Man City, alleging breaches of FFP regulations spanning almost a decade, from 2009 to 2018, all of which the club has denied.
The long-awaited trial is expected to begin in the second half of September, following confirmation from Premier League chairman Richard Masters that a date had been set.
Guardiola, who has been Man City boss since 2016, responded to the news on Friday before his side’s 4-1 win against Ipswich a day later.
“I am happy that it starts soon, and hopefully it finishes soon, for the benefit of all of us, especially the club but also the other Premier League clubs and all the people who did not wait for the punishment,” Guardiola said.
“I hope, from the bottom of my heart, (that) it goes to trial, an independent panel. I say an independent panel. I hope as soon as possible, to release what happened, and we will accept it as normal,” said the former Barcelona coach.
