The Indonesian U-17 National Team (Timnas) managed to beat India with a score of 3-1 in a friendly match that took place at the Captain I Wayan Dipta Stadium, Gianyar Regency, Bali, on Sunday (25/8/2024) evening.
Three goals for the Red and White team were scored by Evandra through a penalty in the 14th minute, then Fandi Ahmad Muzaki and Mierza Firjatullah added to the lead. Meanwhile, the only goal for the Indian National Team was scored by Levis Zangminlun.
In the first half, the Indonesian U-17 National Team appeared more dominant. They took the lead in the 14th minute through a penalty perfectly executed by Evandra Florasta.
The penalty was awarded after an opposing player fouled Mierza Firjatullah inside the penalty box in the 13th minute, when Mierza tried to score into an empty net as the Indian goalkeeper was caught off guard.
India, coached by Ishfaq Ahmed, tried to counterattack the Indonesian defense, which was wearing a red jersey that night. Several times they tried to make dangerous shots, including in the 24th minute when Ahongshangbam Samson fired a hard shot into the right corner, but the ball only hit the crossbar.

Despite having several opportunities, the Indonesian U-17 National Team was unable to add another goal until the first half ended with a 1-0 lead.
Entering the second half, the Indonesian National Team again added a goal in the 50th minute through a hard kick by Fandi Ahmad Muzaki who managed to take advantage of the rebound from Mierza Firjatullah, so that the score changed to 2-0.
However, India managed to reduce the deficit two minutes later through Levis Zangminlun, who scored a goal by utilizing a rebound that had previously hit the goalpost and could not be blocked by Indonesian goalkeeper Dafa Setiawarman.
The Indonesian team then strengthened their lead in the 62nd minute, when Mierza Firjatullah scored a third goal that Indian goalkeeper Suraj Singh could not stop.
The match ended with a score of 3-1 after five minutes of added time, ensuring victory for the Indonesian U-17 National Team. The second friendly match between the Indonesian U-17 National Team and India will be held on Tuesday (27/8/2024) also at the Kapten I Wayan Dipta Stadium, Gianyar Regency, Bali.
