New York: The official match ball for the 2026 FIFA World Cup has been unveiled in a ceremony in Toronto. Designed by Adidas, this ball is made in honor of the historic tournament, which will be co-hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada from June 11 to July 19, 2026.
The ball features an attractive design with colors that represent the three host countries: red, blue, and green. Symbols like maple leaves for Canada, an eagle for Mexico, and stars for the United States add cultural significance.
This ball incorporates modern technology as well. Deep seams are designed to enhance flight stability, while embossed icons on the surface ensure a better grip even in wet conditions. One of its key innovations is a built-in motion sensor chip that allows real-time data transfer to the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) system, improving decision-making accuracy during matches.
