Polish striker Robert Lewandowski will miss the eagerly awaited El Clásico match against Real Madrid on October 26. He suffered a hamstring injury during Poland’s World Cup qualifying match against Lithuania.
The 37-year-old forward has injured his left thigh. He is expected to be out for four to six weeks, missing significant matches including El Clásico at Santiago Bernabéu, along with La Liga and Champions League matches against Olympiacos and Club Brugge.
As it stands, Barcelona trails Real Madrid by two points in La Liga. Lewandowski’s injury comes at a critical time for the team. Along with him, goalkeeper Garcia and midfielder Dani Olmo are also uncertain for El Clásico due to injuries.
On a positive note for Barcelona, young winger Lamine Yamal has returned to training after overcoming groin issues. Striker Ferran Torres had some muscle discomfort, but it is not serious.
