Pedri scored the first goal after an attack initiated by Jules Koundé and Lamine Yamal. However, Girona was determined not to back down. Axel Witsel equalized with a stunning overhead kick, silencing the home crowd.
In the final moments, coach Xavi brought Araujo forward, which paid off. A deep cross from Frenkie de Jong was converted by Araujo for the winning goal.
