Thrissur: The Sports.Com Super League saw Calicut FC defeat Thrissur Magic FC with a score of 1-0. The match took place at the Corporation Stadium in the second game of the seventh round, with Federico Buvasso scoring the decisive goal. Calicut topped the league standings with 14 points from seven games, while Thrissur is in second with 13 points.

Calicut came close to scoring in the 15th minute, but Thrissur’s experienced goalkeeper Lakshmikant Kattimani made a crucial save against Mohammad Roshal’s effort. Shortly after, Kattimani also handled a corner from Calicut’s Ajzal. Although Calicut dominated possession in the first half, they couldn’t find the net.

At the start of the second half, Calicut substituted Arjun for their captain Prashanth. Thrissur also made changes, bringing in Ashik and Arun for Faisal Ali and Francis Adoo. In the 49th minute, Buvasso’s pass set up a shot from Ajzal that flew over the crossbar. Calicut’s Ashik received a yellow card for a foul on Bibin Ajayan. On Wednesday (November 19), the final match of the seventh round will see Kannur Warriors FC face Malappuram FC at 7:30 PM in Kannur Jawaharlal Stadium.
