Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca confirmed on Friday that forward Cole Palmer will miss the next three matches due to a toe injury. The 23-year-old, who recently returned to training after a previous ankle injury, hurt his toe after hitting it against a door at home.
As a result, Palmer will not play in the Premier League matches against Burnley and Arsenal, nor in the crucial Champions League match against Barcelona next week.
Maresca stated that while the injury is not serious, Palmer will still be sidelined for the upcoming week’s matches. Palmer had been in excellent form, scoring twice to lead Chelsea to victory over Paris Saint-Germain in the Club World Cup final in July.
