The club took this decision after conceding 12 goals from dead-ball situations in 18 matches this season. With this record, Liverpool has become the team with the most goals conceded from set pieces among the top five leagues in Europe. Briggs had joined Liverpool in July 2024 and played a significant role under manager Jürgen Klopp during the team’s title-winning season last year.
