Ruud van Nistelrooy has officially taken on the role of assistant coach for the Netherlands national football team. He joins as the aide to head coach Ronald Koeman. This marks van Nistelrooy’s third stint on the Dutch national team bench.
His appointment comes as the team gears up for the 2026 World Cup, which will be hosted across Canada, the USA, and Mexico. The Netherlands finds itself in a competitive group alongside Japan and Tunisia.
Van Nistelrooy, a former star striker, is expected to bring his extensive playing experience and knowledge of attacking football to the coaching staff.
