Bayern Munich has finally spoken out about Harry Kane’s future . Bayern’s sporting director, Max Eberl, confirmed that they are currently in talks with the striker regarding a possible contract extension.

Harry Kane joined Bayern in August 2023 after being brought in from Tottenham for an initial fee of EUR 100 million.

The 32-year-old striker signed a four-year contract, a major move that immediately transformed the face of the German giants’ attack.

Since his arrival, Kane has been in superb form. He has scored 119 goals and provided 30 assists in 126 appearances across all competitions.

Ultimately, Kane finally won the first major trophy of his professional career when he helped Bayern win the 2024/2025 Bundesliga , a long-awaited achievement.

“We are talking to Harry, we are talking,” Eberl said while attending a Bundesliga event in Frankfurt.

“Everyone knows that at some point, a decision has to be made.”

According to the BBC , positive signs had actually emerged as early as last October. Kane admitted at the time that he could “definitely” envision himself staying at Bayern for longer.

He also said his desire to return to the Premier League has now “diminished a little”, a statement that has reassured supporters at the Allianz Arena.

Kane’s performances this season have further strengthened his bargaining position. He has scored 34 goals in 30 appearances across all competitions, including 21 in 19 Bundesliga matches.

This record gives him the opportunity to break Robert Lewandowski’s Bundesliga season goal record of 41 goals.

Kane’s contribution has also been crucial in Europe. He helped Bayern finish second in their Champions League group with one game remaining, ensuring a solid position ahead of the knockout stages.

The club also doesn’t appear to be rushing into making a decision. Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen emphasized that the situation is very conducive.

“Harry has a lot of confidence in us and he feels comfortable in Munich,” he said.

“He and his family are already settled. Therefore, we have absolutely no reason to rush.”

With a seemingly harmonious relationship and such significant contributions on the pitch, talks over Harry Kane’s contract extension seem more like a formality than a major question mark. However, as Eberl said, sooner or later, such a crucial decision will have to be made.
