Manchester United player Matheus Cunha is facing potential sanctions from the Football Association (FA) for his celebration after becoming the hero of his team’s victory when they beat Arsenal 3-2 on Sunday (25/1).

His last-minute winner sparked an emotional celebration from the Brazilian striker, which was captured by the live broadcast cameras.

According to a report by SPORT Illustrated on Tuesday, Cunha celebrated by dancing before approaching the camera and shouting, “we’re the f* biggest.”

The remark was immediately heard live on the airwaves and drew widespread reaction, with Sky Sports commentator Peter Drury even apologizing to viewers.

“If you heard any harsh words during the celebration, we apologize for that,” he said during the broadcast.

The FA has yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident. However, the English football governing body has strict rules regarding swearing or abusive language by players, especially when directed directly at the camera.

In its regulations, the FA considers such actions to be “clear and deliberate” violations and can tarnish the image of the game.

Now, Matheus Cunha must await the FA’s decision, amid scrutiny over his role in Manchester United’s crucial victory.
