It’s uncommon for a team with a record of 21-28 and two-and-a-half games from a playoff position to be seen as a potential contender in the NBA.

This season feels different, as the Charlotte Hornets are catching the NBA spotlight.

Hornets have a five-game winning streak

Following a close 123-121 victory over the Dallas Mavericks on Thursday, the Hornets achieved a five-game winning streak, their first since the 2022-23 season. This current stretch was surprising given that the team had struggled to secure even two consecutive wins earlier.

The starting lineup of LaMelo Ball, Brandon Miller, Kon Knueppel, Miles Bridges, and Moussa Diabate improved to 10-1 with Thursday’s win against the Mavericks.
