Tyrese Maxey is gaining attention for NBA MVP talks after an impressive performance on Thursday night.

Maxey played a key role, scoring the game-winning shot as the Philadelphia 76ers defeated the Sacramento Kings, 113-111.

He tallied 40 points, with a crucial basket that broke a tie with just over one second left on the clock. This victory marks consecutive wins for Philadelphia, preventing a potential upset by the struggling Kings.

During the 41 minutes he played, Maxey shot an impressive 66.7% from the field, going 12-of-18 overall and 4-of-9 from beyond the arc. This is the fifth time this season that he has scored at least 40 points, with his last such game being 44 points in a double-overtime loss to the Atlanta Hawks on November 30.
