On Saturday, it was confirmed that Bennett has officially joined Fleetwood Town.

The defender signed a two-and-a-half-year contract for an undisclosed fee, marking his first permanent move away from Manchester United.

Bennett had previously been on loan at Fleetwood last season, where he made a notable impact, prompting the club to secure him on a permanent basis.

After the move was completed, Bennett shared his thoughts on the club’s website.

“I’m absolutely buzzing to be back here,” he stated. “From the moment I arrived last time, it felt like a family. I’m eager to continue where I left off and get back to playing football.”

Reflecting on his loan experience, Bennett mentioned:

“The style of football suited me well. We aimed to play comfortably, and the back five fit my game. There are many talented players here, which helped me improve.”

Bennett also addressed how this move aligns with his career growth:

“I’ve just turned 22, and I feel now is the time to advance and play as many games as I can. I’ve gained valuable experience through my loans, and I’m focused on developing further as a player and as an individual.”

He is looking forward to his new role, anticipating a good amount of professional football ahead.

Before leaving, Bennett expressed his gratitude towards Manchester United.

“I spent 16 years there, and they supported me at every stage,” he said. “I’m grateful to everyone for aiding my growth, both on and off the pitch.”

Upon joining Fleetwood Town, Bennett will reconnect with Ethan Ennis, who has been performing well in League Two.

“I’ve always had a close relationship with Ethan,” Bennett noted. “He’s a quality player and a great person, so I’m excited to play with him again.”

This move could be the catalyst Bennett needs to enhance his career, and it will be interesting to see how he develops going forward.
