Fleetwood Town is nearing the end of the transfer window, aiming for a successful finish in their League Two campaign.

Currently sitting 15th in the league after 28 matches, Town finished 14th in the previous season.

This month presents an opportunity for Fleetwood to strengthen their squad for a better league position.

During this transfer window, Fleetwood has brought in Josh Powell on loan from Nottingham Forest until season’s end.

As the window closes, the club has announced a new signing.

Fleetwood Town confirmed on their official website that Rhys Bennett has joined from Manchester United on a permanent two-and-a-half-year deal.

Bennett previously joined the team on loan last season, making 38 appearances and gaining popularity before returning to Manchester United.

He is now back at Highbury Stadium.

In a statement to the club’s media team, Bennett said: “I’m really happy to be back here. From my first time, it felt like a family. I’m eager to continue where I left off and get back to playing football.”

“At just 22 years old, it’s time to gain more experience and develop as a player and person.”

Rhys Bennett will wear the number two shirt at Fleetwood and might make his debut against Bromley next Saturday.
