Everton recalled Harrison Armstrong from his loan at Preston in January.
He had been performing well, and manager David Moyes needed extra players due to injuries and absences for the Africa Cup of Nations, leading to his return.
Since then, Armstrong has started four consecutive Premier League matches and has impressed both Moyes and the Everton supporters.
There had been discussions about sending him back to Preston with Idrissa Gana Gueye and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall now available, but a decision has been made regarding his future.

Earlier in January, Moyes mentioned that he preferred Armstrong to stay on loan with Preston, who are aiming for promotion.
“The truth is I would like him to go back to Preston,” Moyes said. “They are in a strong position and pushing for the playoffs.”
However, Armstrong’s strong performances have led Moyes to reconsider. According to journalist Paul Joyce from The Times, the teenager is set to remain at Goodison Park.
Joyce reported: “Harrison Armstrong will stay at Everton for the remainder of the season. David Moyes had thought about sending the 19-year-old back to Preston but has been impressed with his contribution.”
“Everton intends to give Armstrong chances and believes he can help in their quest for European competition.”
James Garner praises Harrison Armstrong’s impact
Since joining the first team, Armstrong has impressed James Garner, who shared his thoughts on the player.
“Yeah, Harrison’s a good lad,” Garner said. “I’ve known him for about a year or two, and he absorbs information well. I always knew he would find his way into the team.”
“You can see the quality he has. He’s quite young but plays with maturity. I’m glad to have him back.”
This decision is likely to affect Preston significantly. Manager Paul Heckingbottom was preparing for Armstrong’s return to Deepdale before Everton’s change in plans.
