Dominic Solanke scored a brace as Tottenham fight back against Manchester City

Tottenham managed a strong comeback to draw 2-2 with Manchester City at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

After falling behind 2-0, Tottenham rallied to earn a dramatic 2-2 tie against Manchester City on Sunday. Rayan Cherki opened the scoring for City in the 11th minute, and Antoine Semenyo extended the lead just before halftime. However, Dominic Solanke scored two crucial goals in the second half, including a contentious equalizer in the 53rd minute, securing a vital point for Thomas Frank’s team.

This result leaves Tottenham in 14th place with 30 points from 24 matches, while Manchester City lost valuable points in the title race.

Here’s how the Tottenham players performed in this exciting match.

Tottenham Hotspur Player Ratings

Guglielmo Vicario (6/10): Couldn’t do much about the two goals scored by City but made key saves when needed. His distribution was important as Tottenham tried to build up play in the second half.

João Palhinha (5/10): Struggled in an unfamiliar right-back position and seemed uncomfortable. He was often exposed defensively against City’s attack and didn’t contribute much going forward.

Cristian Romero (5/10): Had a tough game, failing to coordinate the defense well as City dominated early on. Romero was out of position for Cherki’s goal and was substituted at halftime.

Radu Dragusin (5/10): Found it hard to keep up with City’s speed and movement. His positioning was off for both goals, making it easy for City’s attack.

Archie Gray (6/10): Worked hard in midfield but was outmatched by City’s quality. Although he showed energy, his decision-making under pressure was lacking during a difficult first half.

Conor Gallagher (7/10): Displayed his quality through smart movement and energy. He put in tireless effort to help Tottenham get back into the match, setting up Solanke’s equalizing goal with an excellent cross.

Yves Bissouma (5/10): Overlooked in midfield as City took control early on. He gave the ball away for City’s first goal and failed to impose himself before being substituted in the 68th minute.

Destiny Udogie (6.5/10): Provided width on the left and improved in the second half. Udogie’s overlapping runs created space as Tottenham pressed for an equalizer after Solanke’s first goal.

Randal Kolo Muani (5/10): Had a frustrating game with little impact up front. His hold-up play was ineffective, and he was often isolated as City held most of the ball.

Xavi Simons (6/10): Showed moments of skill in the attacking midfield role. His movement created chances, but his final ball lacked the necessary accuracy in the first half.

Dominic Solanke (9/10): The standout performer with two vital second-half goals that saved Tottenham from defeat. His equalizer in the 53rd minute, scored through Marc Guehi’s leg, ignited the comeback, followed by a second goal in the 71st minute. Solanke’s movement and finishing were top-notch, delivering exactly what was needed during a critical moment.
