Everton and Sunderland are in a last-minute race to sign Chelsea’s young talent, Tyrique George. The transfer window closes this Monday, and journalist Pete O’Rourke has reported that both teams want to bring in the 19-year-old winger.

Tyrique George transfer developments

They aim to complete the deal before the market closes. Chelsea is open to offers as George has not had much playing time this season, with only 143 minutes in the Premier League for the 2025/26 campaign. New Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior does not currently view him as a key player, especially as the club focuses on securing a Champions League spot.

At Goodison Park, there is a pressing need for new players. An injury to Jack Grealish has greatly reduced the creative options for manager David Moyes. Grealish had contributed six assists before his foot injury, leaving a significant gap on the left. Dwight McNeil has struggled to take on this role effectively. Everton is currently ninth in the Premier League after a tense 1-1 draw with Brighton but needs more speed and finishing ability from the wings. Tyler Dibling has shown potential since joining the team, but he needs a partner who can add real pace and goal threat.
