The Columbus Crew has signed Jamal Thiare from Atlanta United and transferred forward Jacen Russell-Rowe to Toulouse FC in France.

Thiare’s move includes a payment of $200,000 in 2026 general allocation money, with the potential for an additional $100,000 in conditional allocation for 2027.

The 32-year-old striker from Senegal scored 14 goals and provided five assists in 71 games for Atlanta across all competitions from 2023 to 2025.

“Jamal is an experienced striker who adds a new element to our squad,” said Crew general manager Issa Tall. “He will be a valuable addition as we prepare for the upcoming season, and we are eager to welcome him to Columbus.”

Russell-Rowe is moving to Toulouse for a reported transfer fee of $2.5 million, along with add-ons and a sell-on clause.

The 23-year-old Canadian player scored 22 goals and made 10 assists in 109 matches with the Crew from 2022 to 2025, contributing to the team’s victory in the 2023 MLS Cup and the 2024 Leagues Cup.

“We are happy for Jacen as he starts this new chapter, and we wish him success,” Tall said. “This transfer reflects Jacen’s growth and performance, as well as the supportive environment we foster in Columbus that promotes player development.”

New head coach Henrik Rydstrom and the Crew will kick off the 2026 season on the road against the Portland Timbers on February 21.
