Everton aims to find success in the final months of the Premier League season.
Currently ninth in the league, they have not lost in their last five matches across all competitions, though they have drawn four.
In contrast, David Moyes’ team has won nine games this season and drawn seven, sitting six points behind Chelsea, who is fifth in the league.
Given this situation, Everton may target European qualification by securing positive results.
One approach to achieve this is by strengthening the squad during the transfer window.
So far, the club has not made any signings but has allowed goalkeeper Harry Tyrer to leave for League One leaders Cardiff City on a free transfer.
Recently, the club confirmed the loan signing of Tyrique George from Chelsea, with an option to buy the winger at the end of the season.
On their official website, Everton stated: “Everton have completed the loan signing of England Under-21 international Tyrique George from Chelsea for the remainder of the 2025/26 season, with an option for a permanent move this summer.”
The announcement added: “George, a talented and fast 19-year-old who can play across the forward line, joins the team on the last day of the winter transfer window and will be eligible to debut against Fulham on Saturday.”
Speaking about his move, George expressed: “I’m really excited to be here and to be part of this great club. I can’t wait to get started.”
He added: “The supporters are fantastic. I know Everton fans are passionate and they appreciate hard work, which I aim to show.”
George also mentioned: “David Moyes was another reason for my decision to join. He’s an excellent manager with experience guiding many players. I’ve spoken to him briefly, and he seems like a great person as well.”
He concluded: “I want to enjoy my time here, learn from him, and improve.”
Previously linked with Manchester United, a transfer to Old Trafford now seems unlikely with the move to Everton now confirmed.
As Tyrique George joins Everton, supporters will be keen to see how he performs this season and if he can secure a permanent position at the club.
