After achieving a career Grand Slam, Alcaraz discussed his expectations for his professional tennis career.

In an interview with El Partidazo de Cope, he stated, “Tennis is a demanding sport, both mentally and physically, especially today. The speed of the ball and court demands have really increased, and the schedule adds to the challenge.

“We try to take care of our bodies as much as possible to be in the best shape. A wise person once told me that I can’t think 15 years ahead, just five, and then another five.”

He continued, “We’ll see how it goes. Right now, I don’t picture myself playing at 35. But maybe that moment will arrive, and I’ll be motivated to play as long as my body allows.”

Alcaraz Makes Smart Move After Australian Open Win

Despite being young, Alcaraz has demonstrated a talent for making wise decisions in his career.

This includes both on-court and off-court actions that contributed to his seven Grand Slam titles.

Just before his recent success, he surprised many by parting ways with coach Juan Carlos Ferrero after a successful partnership.

However, with Samuel Lopez coaching him, Alcaraz quickly validated his decision by winning the Australian Open.

He has now made another strategic decision by withdrawing from the Rotterdam Open following his Grand Slam victory.

This choice wasn’t easy; he won the tournament in 2025, defeating Alex de Minaur in the final. However, considering the upcoming season, taking a break now makes sense.

Alcaraz has expressed a desire for improvements to tennis’s busy schedule and is starting to take charge of his calendar by skipping Rotterdam later this month.
