Sporting Kansas City has signed defenders Wyatt Meyer and Jayden Reid to contracts on Tuesday.

Both players, aged 24, are contracted through 2026, with options for the 2027-28 season.

Meyer made his MLS debut with Nashville SC last season, scoring one goal in eight matches. He was the No. 11 pick in the 2024 MLS SuperDraft.

“Wyatt is a left-footed player who can play both as a center back and in midfield. His versatility will add depth and competition,” said SKC president of soccer operations and general manager David Lee.

Reid developed in the New York Red Bulls academy and spent the last two seasons with St. Louis City, recording three assists in 24 games.

“Jayden is an athletic left back with MLS experience, embodying the traits we seek for that position,” Lee mentioned.

Sporting Kansas City will begin the 2026 season against the San Jose Earthquakes on February 21.
