Jack Grealish will miss the rest of the 2025/26 season due to a serious foot injury. However, former Everton manager Keith Wyness believes the club is still keen on securing the midfielder’s permanent transfer. According to Wyness on the Football Insider ‘Inside Track’ podcast, manager David Moyes considers the 30-year-old essential for the team at Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Wyness suggested that the injury might work in Everton’s favor during negotiations with Manchester City since it could reduce the transfer fee. He also noted that Grealish is eager for a significant role in Everton’s future, which might lead him to accept a lower salary with performance-based bonuses to facilitate the move.
“I believe Moyes wants to keep Jack and is keen on making this deal happen. An injury like this will give Everton more leverage in talks with Man City.
“I don’t foresee any issues in finalizing this deal. Both sides will recognize that it’s a necessity now. Jack may need to adjust his wage expectations, too.
“So, I think this is a situation that will resolve itself. I’m confident about that. Everyone involved may need to accept lower figures. Everton could secure Grealish at a reasonable cost.
“Looking ahead, I believe he sees potential in the squad and wants to be part of this project, likely opting for a more bonus-oriented salary structure.”
