Diogo Dalot is now in his eighth year as a Manchester United player, having played alongside some remarkable talents.
The Portuguese right-back joined Old Trafford in 2018 when Jose Mourinho was the manager and has remained a key player under Michael Carrick.
Former United full-back Denis Irwin commended Dalot for his steady performances over the years, noting his consistent presence in the starting lineup, regardless of the manager.
Dalot shares a close bond with fellow Portuguese player Bruno Fernandes, who has been in excellent form this season and is in contention for Player of the Season in the Premier League.
Nevertheless, Dalot stated that Fernandes is not the best player he has played with at United.

In a recent episode of the Inside Carrington podcast, Dalot named Cristiano Ronaldo as the best player he’s played with at Manchester United.
Asked about who impressed him the most, Dalot said, “I have to say Cristiano. For the whole package, he came in and changed my career.
“He helped me a lot at the club, guiding me through various situations. Even when he returned, he left a strong impression on me.”
Dalot already knew Ronaldo from their time together on the Portuguese national team before they reunited at United during Ronaldo’s second spell from 2021 to 2022.
Diogo Dalot’s leadership role at Man United
Although Dalot has faced some criticism over the years, his reliability and commitment to Manchester United are undeniable.
Under Ruben Amorim, Dalot was included in the team’s leadership group, reflecting his value beyond just performance on the field.
Michael Carrick has expressed admiration for Dalot, a sentiment shared by previous United managers.
While he may not be viewed as a superstar, his dedication has never been in doubt. It’s likely that fans will fully appreciate his contributions only after he departs the team after eight years.
