Recently, the match between Liverpool and Manchester City has become one of the most anticipated events in the Premier League.

During the time of Pep Guardiola and Jürgen Klopp, their encounters showcased some of the finest football in England.

However, since Klopp’s departure from Liverpool in 2024, the dynamics have changed. Guardiola hasn’t been able to regain that competitive edge with City.

As the upcoming match at Anfield approaches, Gilberto Silva, a member of Arsenal‘s last title-winning squad, was seen attending Arne Slot’s press conference.

It has been 22 years since Arsenal last celebrated their famous Invincibles lifting the Premier League trophy in 2004.

This team featured stars like Thierry Henry, Patrick Vieira, and Dennis Bergkamp.

Brazilian World Cup winner Gilberto Silva was also part of that squad, playing 32 matches that season.

Gilberto’s appearance at the press conference was unrelated to either team; he was simply attending ahead of the Liverpool vs. Manchester City match.

Over two decades have passed since Arsenal last claimed a Premier League title, with memories of the Invincibles still vivid for many.

While Thierry Henry, Patrick Vieira, and Dennis Bergkamp are highlight players from that time, Gilberto Silva made a significant impact as well.

Though he has no direct connection to either team playing this weekend, Gilberto was noted at Arne Slot’s press conference, as shared by journalist Paul Gorst:

“At AXA Training Centre to hear from Arne Slot at 9am. Brazil and Arsenal legend Gilberto Silva also here this morning.”
