Scott McTominay quickly became a key player for Napoli after joining from Manchester United in the summer of 2024.

In his first season, the Scotland international helped secure the Serie A title, marking only the fourth time in the club’s history they achieved this feat.

McTominay was not just part of the successful squad; he was a crucial contributor, earning the Serie A MVP and Player of the Season awards.

This season, he has remained essential for the team, scoring nine goals and providing four assists in 33 matches across Serie A, the Champions League, and domestic tournaments.

In December, McTominay added another trophy to his collection, winning the Supercoppa Italiana during his time in Italy.

Reports from AreaNapoli indicate that he recently turned down an offer from a Saudi Arabian club.

While the club making the bid is not named, the offer included a salary of £13 million (€15 million), broken down into a base salary of £10.5 million (€12 million) plus £2.6 million (€3 million) in bonuses.

Despite this tempting proposal, McTominay chose to stay, but his future at Napoli may still be uncertain.

Leonardo Giammarioli, the club’s global business development officer, recently addressed the possibility of losing McTominay in the coming years.

Expressing mixed feelings about this potential loss, Giammarioli said, “Yeah, of course I’m worried [McTominay will leave Napoli].”

He added, “But ultimately, especially Scott, who’s a very nice guy, we’re happy if he gets to the next level in a couple of years – maybe not now, maybe not next year, but he deserves it.”

He compared the situation to that of Stuttgart, where they tried to keep Nick Woltemade, noting, “When such an offer comes in, there’s not much you can do when the player wants to go and money is important.”
