Sheffield United is nearing the end of the Championship season, currently placed 15th in the league as they enter a crucial phase of the campaign.
In the January transfer window, the club made selective moves, signing four new players.
One of those signings was midfielder Kalvin Phillips from Manchester City, who will be with Sheffield United on loan until the season ends.
Phillips has had limited playtime this season, appearing just once for City, making a move to the Championship a good opportunity for him to gain more experience.
Alongside Phillips, Sheffield United also brought in Ki-Jana Hoever from Wolverhampton Wanderers, Leo Hjelde from Sunderland, and Joe Rothwell from Rangers.
While the men’s team aims to climb the Championship standings, the women’s team, competing in Women’s Super League 2, is striving for success as well.
The latest addition to their squad is Scarlett Hill, who has joined on loan.
Sheffield United announced on their official website, “United have made their fourth and final January addition as Manchester United and Wales prospect Scarlett Hill joins on loan for the remainder of the 2025/26 season.”
Hill expressed her excitement about the move, saying, “I’m really excited. When I found out they wanted to bring me in here, I felt really lucky. It’s a great opportunity to show what I can do at WSL 2 level.”
She also noted that she has connections with current players, which should help her settle in smoothly.
Having been on the bench for several Manchester United games and making her debut for Wales last year, Hill’s transfer to Sheffield United could provide her with additional game-time and professional growth before summer.
