CF Montreal has signed midfielder Wiki Carmona from the New York Red Bulls in exchange for defender Jahkeele Marshall-Rutty.

Carmona, 22, from Venezuela, has played with the Red Bulls for the last five years, scoring six goals and providing six assists in a total of 118 matches across all competitions.

“We are excited to have Wikelman Carmona join us,” said Montreal managing director Luca Saputo. “His skills will enhance our midfield and offer our coach more tactical options.”

Marshall-Rutty, 21, from Canada, spent last season on loan at Charlotte FC. He has recorded one goal and eight assists across 112 MLS matches with Toronto FC (2020-24), Montreal (2024-25), and Charlotte (2025).

“We are happy to welcome Jahkeele to our team,” said New York’s head of sport Julian de Guzman. “He is a talented young player with a strong work ethic, and we think this is a great opportunity for him to keep growing in his career.”

Both teams will start the 2026 MLS season on February 21, with the Red Bulls playing against Orlando City SC and Montreal facing San Diego FC.
