In his 18th NBA season with the Sacramento Kings, Russell Westbrook is making headlines with each point he scores. On Monday night, he reached a significant milestone.

Westbrook, now 37 years old, hit 27,000 career points during the Kings’ game against the New Orleans Pelicans, which ended in a 120-94 loss. Although his performance hasn’t yet led to wins this season, Westbrook continues to rise on the NBA’s all-time scoring list.

Russell Westbrook joins an elite group

Sitting in 14th place, just ahead of Hakeem Olajuwon and behind Elvin Hayes, Westbrook has entered a rare category that only 13 other players have reached in the league’s history.

In the game against the Pelicans, Westbrook scored 17 points in 21 minutes, making 7 of 18 shots. He also recorded two rebounds and assists. This season, he is averaging 15.3 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 6.6 assists per game.
