Jonjoe Kenny, who had a loan period at Celtic, joined a Greek team last summer after playing in Germany for Schalke and Hertha Berlin.
PAOK also added Giorgos Giakoumakis, a striker well-regarded from his time at Celtic. He is on loan from Cruz Azul in Mexico.
Giakoumakis played under Postecoglou at Celtic and has now returned to Greece. Taylor mentioned that he helped PAOK in signing the forward when club officials asked for his thoughts.
Taylor told Open Goal: “It’s real Bobby Basic, isn’t it? Good morning, goodnights, hellos…”
“We’re lucky because most speak English unless you run into a tricky situation at the petrol station.”
“Jonjoe signed about a week before me and then big Giako joined around a month later,” he continued.
“I spoke to him, and the sporting director asked me: ‘What do you think of big Giako?’ I said: ‘If you can get him, that’s a no-brainer.’”
How Greg Taylor is finding life at PAOK since leaving Celtic
Although he hasn’t played as much as he wanted, the defender has made 16 appearances for a team active in both local competitions and the Europa League.
Nicolas Kuhn in Italy has had a tough time getting into the starting lineup at Como, making only five league starts and scoring once this season.
On the other hand, Alex Valle is enjoying his time under Cesc Fabregas at Como, and his strong form has led some to speculate about a possible return to Barcelona.
Adam Idah has also had limited playing time at Swansea, mainly due to Zan Vipotnik’s outstanding performance as the Championship’s leading scorer.
Sadio Mane leads an Al Nassr team featuring stars like Cristiano Ronaldo and Aymeric Laporte. Frimpong isn’t the only former Celtic player making waves; others, like Odsonne Edouard (Al-Ittihad) and Giorgos Giakoumakis (PAOK), have also moved on significantly since their time at Celtic.
