The 2026 NBA Draft class is gaining attention, even though it hasn’t occurred yet. Many teams at the bottom of the standings realize how important this draft will be for their future.

Securing a top pick could bring in a player like Darryn Peterson from Kansas, AJ Dybantsa from BYU, or Cameron Boozer from Duke. This possibility has led to speculation that some teams stopped trying to win games back in early February.

Kenyon Martin speaks out on NBA tanking

The NBA has been discussing potential solutions for tanking, particularly since some teams make it obvious. Kenyon Martin, the No. 1 pick in the 2000 NBA Draft, shared his thoughts during a recent segment on “Yahoo Sports Daily.”

“This is a disgusting display from non-competitive organizations. It’s harmful to the game and to sports as a whole. The league needs to take action. There should be penalties or fines for this behavior. It’s unfair to the fans.”

“The true victims are the fans who spend their hard-earned money to watch these games and support their teams, only to witness such actions.”
