Tottenham are monitoring a notable talent from Africa.
Tottenham Hotspur has been struggling under Thomas Frank this season, remaining in the lower half of the Premier League table.
The club made only one significant signing last winter, Conor Gallagher. His addition has provided energy and determination to their midfield, which has been lacking. Yves Bissouma returned to the squad after AFCON in January due to an injury crisis.
The Malian player has participated in recent matches, but his future at White Hart Lane looks uncertain. His contract ends this summer, and discussions for an extension have not taken place. Bissouma is expected to leave on a free transfer, prompting Tottenham to begin looking for his replacement.
Tottenham interested in signing FC Nordsjaelland midfielder Caleb Yirenkyi
As reported by TEAMtalk, Tottenham is one of several Premier League teams interested in FC Nordsjaelland midfielder Caleb Yirenkyi. Spurs have sent scouts to watch the 20-year-old, and they have been impressed by his physicality, ball-winning skills, and ability to push forward with the ball.
Caleb Yirenkyi, who came from the Right to Dream academy in Ghana, moved to Denmark in February 2024 and has made significant strides in the last two years with FC Nordsjaelland. He has established himself as a key player in the midfield, making 40 appearances so far. The Ghana international has had a strong season, scoring two goals and providing five assists in 18 Superliga matches.
Having drawn comparisons to former Chelsea star Michael Essien, Yirenkyi is also attracting interest from clubs in Germany and France. Nordsjaelland values him at over £20 million, which would set a new record for the club.
