Tottenham signed Conor Gallagher in January.

Tottenham Hotspur has been linked to many midfielders recently but has only secured one signing, Conor Gallagher from Atletico Madrid.

Another player linked to Spurs is Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson. Tottenham has shown interest in the former Newcastle United player for a while. However, Manchester City is now a serious contender, as they plan to make a summer bid for him.

Man City plans bid for Elliot Anderson

Recent reports from TEAMtalk indicate that Manchester City is ready to make a significant offer for Anderson. They view the 23-year-old as a perfect fit for Pep Guardiola’s midfield needs, especially as they require reliable depth behind Rodri.

While City is a dominant side in the Premier League, they have relied heavily on Rodri, and his absence creates a substantial gap. Bringing in Anderson would help mitigate that issue.

Anderson can play both the #6 and #8 roles. He is not only good with the ball but also has strong defensive skills. At just 23, he has plenty of potential for growth under Guardiola.

What’s Next for Tottenham?

Tottenham has been monitoring Anderson for some time. Many consider him a long-term solution for their midfield issues, especially given their current injury problems.

However, Manchester City’s financial power makes it more challenging for Tottenham to secure his signing. In addition to City, clubs like Manchester United, Chelsea, and Arsenal are also interested in him. This means Tottenham will need to put in significant effort to attract him away from these top teams.
