Igor Tudor aims to make an immediate impact as Tottenham’s new interim head coach.

Igor Tudor has joined Tottenham Hotspur as the interim head coach, with the aim of improving team performance and results.

Thomas Frank was dismissed after the team found itself just five points above the relegation zone, having won only two of 17 Premier League matches. This gives Tudor a low starting point as he works to steer the club clear of potential relegation.

Currently sitting in 16th place in the league, Tottenham cannot afford to slide further. The team’s performances have been lacking all season, and Tudor faces the challenge of motivating a squad that has been heavily affected by injuries. With several players unavailable due to injuries and suspensions, his task is quite daunting.

Alasdair Gold shares insights on Tottenham’s choice of Igor Tudor

Tudor previously coached Juventus but lasted only eight months, securing just 12 points from eight league matches this season and failing to win in three Champions League games.

Gold describes Tudor’s hiring as a significant risk, particularly because he lacks experience in the Premier League. Despite this, Gold believes that Tudor’s history of managing high-profile players could be beneficial for Spurs at this critical time.

“I think it might bode well for Tottenham. We need it to bode well. Otherwise, we could be playing in a different division next season,” Gold remarked on his YouTube channel.

“However, there is a big risk due to his lack of Premier League experience. It’s important that he is supported by others who have that expertise.”

“That said, a significant positive is that he has successfully managed big players and made a notable impact wherever he’s been. That’s exactly what Spurs need right now.”
