Michael Carrick’s Manchester United will aim to return to winning form when they visit the Hill Dickinson Stadium on Monday, February 23.
With other teams occupied by the FA Cup, the Red Devils are focused on securing a top-four position in the Premier League by May.
Under Carrick’s leadership, following a challenging 14-month period with Ruben Amorim, the team’s improvement is clear, marked by four wins and one draw.
From now until the end of the 2025/26 season, Carrick and his coaching staff—Steve Holland, Jonny Evans, and Jonathan Woodgate—are looking to increase their win tally.
As of now, United is fourth in the Premier League standings with 45 points, with Chelsea, Liverpool, and Brentford close behind.
The summer signings of Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha, and Senne Lammens have proven beneficial, but not all is well for players on loan.
Toby Collyer is dealing with a new injury issue.
Hull City signed the young midfielder in January until the end of the season, as they aim for promotion to the Premier League.
However, according to Hull Live, Collyer will be sidelined for the next few weeks due to a hamstring injury, which also kept him out of their recent 4-0 defeat against Chelsea in the FA Cup.
Collyer, who joined United from Brighton & Hove Albion in 2022, recently made his debut for Hull.
The 22-year-old, who has played 13 matches for United’s first team, came on as a substitute for the last 14 minutes of Hull’s 3-2 loss against Bristol City.
Earlier in the season, he had a calf issue and was gradually being integrated back into play.
Collyer spent the first half of the season on loan at West Bromwich Albion, where he made 12 appearances, totaling 253 minutes due to his calf injury.
Although still developing his skills, Collyer was set to face Liam Rosenior’s Chelsea last Friday, but a training injury prevented his participation.
After the loss to Chelsea, scans confirmed he suffered a hamstring injury and he will miss a few upcoming matches.
Hull manager Sergej Jakirovic will feel the impact of Collyer’s absence, but hopes to have him back in action by the end of the month for their match against Portsmouth as they look for three points.
