Sharon Davies Criticizes Chelsea Players for Ignoring Hull Mascots
Hull’s mascots waited to greet Chelsea players as they arrived at the MKM Stadium. However, a video shared by Chelsea on social media showed the players walking past without acknowledging the mascots.
Sharon Davies, a silver medalist from the 1980 Moscow Olympics, expressed her disappointment upon viewing the clip. She hoped that players like Reece James would have taken a moment to interact.
She tweeted, “Very disappointing, Chelsea. Could no one be bothered to even say hello to those young footballers as they passed? 5 seconds of their time!”
Ally McCoist Critiques Chelsea Players
Radio personality Ally McCoist also criticized the players for ignoring the mascots. Like many viewers, he found it surprising that they couldn’t at least wave or give a thumbs-up.
“It’s not a good look. Never mind, not a good look, it’s not good…” McCoist stated.
“It costs absolutely nothing, and it’s amazing; you underestimate how much it means to those kids…”
“Those [small] things are actually big things in the grand scheme of things. That is not a good look at all.”
