Victor Wembanyama made his stance clear at the 2026 NBA All-Star Games: he treats the game seriously.
While many players see All-Star weekend as a chance to relax, Wembanyama approached it with intensity. Team World ended the round-robin play with two losses, and he clearly was not happy about it.
His competitive spirit raised the level of play more than expected for a weekend usually seen as casual.
After losing in overtime to the young USA team, a reporter asked Wembanyama about the final three-pointer that decided the game and whether he felt pressure. His response was telling.
“Yes. We allowed a three-pointer when we shouldn’t have, and that was disappointing. We should have been smarter. Being honest about our performance is important. Basketball is a game I love, so being competitive is essential.”
