Tottenham is looking to add a new left-winger for next season.
Tottenham is having a tough time in the Premier League this season, currently sitting in the lower half of the table with just seven wins from 26 matches. The team recently dismissed Thomas Frank and appointed Igor Tudor as the new manager.
A major factor in Tottenham’s struggles has been an ongoing injury crisis. Throughout Frank’s time, he often had to manage without key players like Dominic Solanke, Dejan Kulusevski, James Maddison, and Mohammed Kudus, making it hard to put together a strong team.
Additionally, Tottenham sold Brennan Johnson in the winter without finding a suitable replacement, which frustrated many. Johnson was a valuable option as the team competed in both the Premier League and Europe. Now, with Wilson Odobert out for the season due to an ACL injury, the team lacks a natural left-winger.
Tottenham is interested in signing AC Milan’s Christian Pulisic
To improve their performance, Tottenham needs to bring in attacking players this summer. With Odobert injured and Johnson sold, there is an urgent need for a left-wing replacement to help the team get back on track.
Recent reports suggest Tottenham is eyeing AC Milan player Christian Pulisic. His contract with the Italian club runs until the summer of 2027, but no new talks for an extension are planned. This puts Pulisic at risk of being sold for a fee between €70-80 million.
According to CaughtOffside, Tottenham might face competition from Manchester United and Arsenal for Pulisic. Both are looking to strengthen their left-wing positions. Arsenal seeks a replacement for Gabriel Martinelli, while United needs a natural winger.
Is Pulisic a good fit for Tottenham?
Since joining AC Milan in the summer of 2023, Christian Pulisic has made a significant impact, scoring 43 goals and providing 22 assists. He has established himself as a top attacker in Serie A. Although he struggled during his time at Chelsea, Pulisic has regained form ahead of the upcoming World Cup.
Tottenham’s interest in Pulisic is understandable. At 27 years old, he still has plenty of prime years left. He could form a strong attacking partnership with players like Solanke, Xavi Simons, and Mohammed Kudus on the left wing. The North London team is expected to pursue Pulisic, as he is familiar with English football and would likely adapt quickly.
