Since Aaron Briggs left Liverpool in December 2025, the team’s performance on set-pieces has notably improved.
Briggs exited at the end of last year, and Liverpool opted not to hire a new set-piece coach for the remainder of the season.
This decision seems to have paid off, as there has been a significant change in the goals scored and conceded from set-pieces since then.
During Briggs’s tenure, Liverpool had a -5 set-piece goal difference, scoring eight and conceding 13 before January.
Since his departure, the team has scored eight more goals from set-pieces while allowing only two against, resulting in a +6 goal difference over about half a season.
