Golden State Warriors player Kristaps Porzingis is getting accustomed to teaming up with forward Draymond Green, known for his on-court controversies. So far, Porzingis is enjoying the experience.
Before his first game with the Warriors against his former team, the Boston Celtics, Porzingis spoke about Green after practice on Wednesday.
“I love Draymond, man,” Porzingis stated. “I can see how important he is to this group.”
Porzingis and Green need to work well together as Golden State aims to strengthen its frontcourt, especially with Steph Curry out due to a knee injury.
The Warriors traded for Porzingis on February 4 from the Atlanta Hawks, sending Jonathan Kuminga and Buddy Hield in return. However, an Achilles tendinitis issue has kept him from playing for Golden State. In fact, he hasn’t played since January 7 due to this persistent lower-body injury.
Porzingis has faced health challenges throughout his career, but the Warriors clearly believe in his potential.
During his 17 games with the Hawks in the 2025-26 season, the 39-year-old Porzingis averaged 17.1 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 2.7 assists, shooting 45.7 percent from the field.
