New York City FC has signed second-round draft pick Kevin Pierre to a first-team contract on Friday. He is traveling with the team ahead of their season opener on Sunday against the Los Angeles Galaxy.
The contract details were not disclosed, but it covers the 2026 season with options for extensions through 2028-29.
Pierre, 22, was drafted from Georgia Southern and participated in the club’s preseason training in California. He played 51 matches in three college seasons, scoring two goals and providing four assists.
“Kevin has impressed from Day 1 in preseason and earned the respect of his teammates and coaches,” said club sporting director Todd Dunivant. “We believe he has the skills to strengthen our midfield, and we are happy to welcome Kevin to New York City FC.”
Last season, NYCFC finished fifth in the Eastern Conference and reached the conference finals, where they lost to Inter Miami, the eventual MLS Cup champion.
