The Detroit Pistons won against the New York Knicks, defeating them 126-111 at Madison Square Garden. This victory was the smallest margin in their season series, where the Pistons have now swept the Knicks and won by an average of 28 points.

Cade Cunningham Shines Against the Knicks

A significant improvement for the Pistons is the performance of Cade Cunningham. He recorded 13 assists on Thursday and is making fewer turnovers while getting to the free-throw line more often. Cunningham’s size gives him an advantage over Knicks’ point guard Jalen Brunson, who is shorter and lighter.

Cunningham scored 42 points in the game, making 17 of his 34 shots and hitting 5 of 11 from beyond the arc. This month, he has matched his three-point total from January despite the All-Star break. His ability to shoot from distance adds a new dimension to the Pistons’ offense.

The Knicks attempted various defenders on Cunningham, including Brunson, Mikal Bridges, OG Anunoby, Josh Hart, and Jeremy Sochan, but he managed to score against all of them, even against Karl-Anthony Towns when the defense switched.
