Casemiro will leave Manchester United at the end of this season. He announced his departure earlier this year.

His exit will conclude a nearly four-year stint at Old Trafford and will reduce the midfield options for the next Red Devils manager.

As his departure is confirmed, several clubs are preparing bids to sign him for the next season.

One club interested is Inter Miami, which has expressed a desire to make a move.

Additionally, FC Porto is looking to strengthen its squad, particularly with the potential for UEFA Champions League football next season.

In a YouTube interview, Rui Costa, São Paulo’s football executive, confirmed that the club has had informal contact with Casemiro.

Costa mentioned, “We talked one afternoon, and an important player sent a message to Casemiro. Who wouldn’t want Casemiro on their team, right? I would!”

He added that Casemiro replied that he does not plan to return to Brazil and intends to stay in another market.

Costa clarified, “Does this mean São Paulo made a proposal for Casemiro? No. We did not make a proposal, and it would be unwise to do so without knowing how our squad will shape up.”

He also said, “I had to see if he considered São Paulo an option. That’s what we did. There was no proposal, no formal inquiry. It was merely a message from an important member of our group.”

From these statements, it’s evident that São Paulo informally explored the possibility of signing Casemiro.

However, since Casemiro has declined to return to the club, it seems unlikely that any formal inquiries will follow.
