Tottenham Must Improve Home Performance in the Premier League

Tottenham’s home performance has been alarming. The club has won only two Premier League matches at home this season, showing their difficulties in front of fans. This poor record has contributed to their struggles under Thomas Frank, leaving them in the lower part of the table.

Few anticipated such a downturn at home after Thomas Frank took over from Ange Postecoglou last summer. Frank had a strong home record at Brentford, remaining unbeaten against top teams last season. However, he could not achieve similar results at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, where the team failed to gain any momentum.

Surprisingly, Spurs managed only four home league wins in 2025, ranking among the worst in the league at home. The frustration among fans was evident, as results did not improve under both Frank and Postecoglou. Despite having the highest season-ticket prices in the Premier League, the team has not provided satisfying performances to their supporters.

Tottenham’s Home Struggles Raise Concerns

The players have struggled to perform consistently at home. Earlier this season, Spurs had one of the best away records in the league under Frank but their home performances were starkly different, contributing to Frank’s dismissal earlier this month.

Stephen Kelly has pointed out that the players seem to lack the right mentality to improve their home record. Speaking to the BBC, Kelly said,

“They need a mentality to be able to perform at home. If you are struggling in front of your own fans and you don’t have the mental strength to be able to turn that around at home and get them back onside, it just doesn’t feel like that is going to change between now and the end of the season.”

Kelly believes Spurs must show greater determination at home to maintain their Premier League status. He noted that the squad appears to lack the mental resilience needed to cope with pressure at their own ground, leading to dwindling confidence among fans. Improving home form could be crucial for the team’s chances to stay in the top flight next season.

Only Wolves have a worse home record than Spurs this season, highlighting how much the team has fallen below expectations and explaining the worsening atmosphere around the stadium. Such conditions are unlikely to support the players as they try to secure the club’s Premier League status in the upcoming months.
