Manchester United has experienced a significant change in their goalkeeping this season, thanks to the emerging talent of Senne Lammens, who has brought new stability to the team.

The Belgian goalkeeper has made a strong impact since joining, achieving several clean sheets and showcasing impressive maturity.

This development has strengthened the defense, giving manager Michael Carrick more confidence in what had been a shaky position last year.

As United plans for a strong squad in the 2026/27 season, they are evaluating their options.

For Altay Bayindir, chances have become limited.

The 26-year-old started the season as the team’s main goalkeeper but faced challenges early on, leading to Lammens taking over as the first choice.

United and Besiktas have now agreed on terms for Bayindir’s transfer, reported to be worth £4.36 million, with the move set to take place as soon as the transfer window opens.

The Turkey international was brought in from Fenerbahce in 2023 for £4.3 million as a backup option, allowing United to recoup their investment after three years.

During his time at Old Trafford, Bayindir has played 17 matches and kept three clean sheets, but has not secured a regular starting spot.

His exit would open up space in the squad, as Lammens continues to make his case for the No. 1 position.

Besiktas, having long been interested in Bayindir, is eager to bring him to the Turkish Super Lig and give him a chance to return as a first-choice goalkeeper.

With United ready to let him go and Besiktas prepared to finalize the deal, this transfer could be one of the first confirmed moves for the Red Devils this summer.
